Virgin Classics is pleased to announce the release of Rolando Villazon’s second album, a program of French opera arias by Gounod and Massenet, two composers emblematic of the 19th century French opera repertoire. Villazon’s new album employs the same winning combination as his first album, the most popular arias along with operatic rarities including one aria that receives its recording debut: “Ah! Parais” from Massenet’s Le Mage. The majority of the works on this album belong to Rolando Villazón’s performance repertoire which he is scheduled to sing over the next few years - Werther, Manon, Roméo et Juliette and Faust.
