Villazonista Blog Spanish ROLANDO VILLAZÓN, DIRECTOR DE ESCENA (OPERA MAGAZINE)

The Daily Mail English My magnificent Mexico! Opera star Rolando Villazon on the his homeland's high notes
"I was born in Mexico in 1972 and grew up in the suburbs of Mexico City. But during my childhood my family didn’t travel around the country much – we’d just go to the beaches of Acapulco a few hours’ drive away or we went to the States. Throughout those early years I was dying to see more of my home country. It wasn’t until I met my future wife that I got my wish. Lucia was 15 and I was 16 when our paths first crossed. We have now been married for 13 years. Our first big tour was of the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico, crammed into a VW Kombi van with half-a-dozen tourists from France, Australia and other places." - The Daily Mail |

Villazonista Blog French ROLANDO VILLAZÓN Entrevista con Serge Martin, Noviembre 2010

Opera News English Chanson de Rolando
"It has taken just a few years for Rolando Villazón to become the most talked-about and sought-after lyric tenor in the world. While some have contended for that title on the basis of just a few roles, his repertoire continues to grow and does so on parallel tracks, as French lyric-tenor parts vie in frequency with the Italian staples." - David J. Baker, Opera News |

New York Times English The Voice on the Couch
"Most like to clothe their characters in a little sentimentality. In Mr. Villazón's brave performances, Don Carlo and Don José were stripped bare. Yet he kept the audience with him." - Matthew Gurewitsch, New York Times |
